Lipstick Application Tips for a Flawless Finish

Prepare Your Lips
The first and one of the most important steps in applying your lipstick is preparing your lips. By exfoliating your lips, either with a homemade honey and sugar scrub or your trusty toothbrush and water, exfoliating will smooth the canvas to prevent any flakiness or dry spots later. Plus the act of exfoliating will give your lips a natural plump.
Hydrate and Prime

Apply Lip Liner
If you’re after a precise lip look or you want to add some extra shape and pout to your lips, apply a lip liner all over your lips that is either the same shade as your lips or a shade or two lighter than the lipstick to follow, this will make sure the liner isn’t noticeable. If you do decide to overline your lips, be subtle and choose to either overline the top or bottom lip to keep it looking more natural. For a more casual lip, we recommend skipping lip liner.
Apply Your Lipstick
Begin by applying the lipstick from the center of your lips outwards, this will ensure the majority of the lipstick covers the fullest part of your lips. As you reach the outer edges of your lips, take your time and be more precise to not apply the lipstick outside of your lip liner or natural lip line. To make sure you coat your lips completely and fill in any creases, we recommend smiling while applying your lipstick. For a flawless finish, especially with a darker shade like berry or red, use a lip brush particularly for the edges and have concealer on hand in case you go outside the lines and need to perfect the edges. A great tip if you want your lips to appear fuller, apply a slightly lighter lipstick or a lip gloss at the center of your lips.
